Day 01: Delhi Arrival in New Delhi, the elegant capital of India, for an overnight stay.
The sprawling gardens and stately buildings help take a trip down the memory lane of Delhi. Day 03: Agra (203kms/4hrs) Drive to Agra, the erstwhile capital of glorious Mughal dynasty that offers incomparable monuments such as Taj Mahal, Red Fort and other prestigious monuments. (Every Friday Taj Mahal will be closed; one can visit on sunset and sunrise) Day 04: Agra -Fatehpur Sikri - Jaipur (250 kms/5.5hrs) Drive to the 'Pink city' of Rajputs- Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri, which is known as the capital city of Emperor Akbar. Day 05: Jaipur Visit the Amber Fort and experience its glory on an elephant back and later enjoy a sight seeing tour of the city that includes mirror inlayed palaces and courtyards.
In the morning, drive back to Delhi and have an overnight stay in the capital, adding up the last touches to an exciting tour of the Golden Triangle. Day 07: Delhi Leave Delhi for an onward destination. Amritsar, literally – ‘Pool of Nectar’, which derives its name from the holy pond around the temple. The land for the pool was gifted by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Chardham Yatra The Chardham Yatra is one of the most popular places of pilgrimage in northern India. Day 01:-Delhi-Heridwar-Rishikesh (240Kms) Pick up the tourist from a convenient location and depart for Haridwar. Holy dip in Ganga and break for lunch. Proceed for Rishikesh. The temple is an exquisite 20ft.high structure made of white granite. The remaining of the day is free for leisure. Overnight stay in hotel. Day 6: Gangotri -Srinagar (230 kms) In the morning, drive to Srinagar, lunch enroot. Overnight stay at hotel. Day 7: Srinagar-Garikund-Kedarnath (105 kms drive and 14kms trek) In the morning, drive to Gaurikund and trek to Kedarnath. Overnight stay at hotel. Day8: Kedarnath-Gaurikund After darshan and pooja, return back to Gaurikund. Overnight stay at hotel. Day 9: Gurikund –Badrinath (220Kms) Early in the morning, leave for Badrinath, lunch enroot. Cradled in the twin mountain ranges of Nar and Narayan is the holies of the four main shrines- Badrinath along the left bank of Alaknanda with the towering Neelkanth peak as the splendid backdrop. Once the spot was carpeted either – Badri - or wild berries and hence, was famous as Badrivan. Legend has it, when the Ganga was requested to descend to earth to help suffering humanity; the earth was unable to withstand the force of its descent. Therefore, the mighty Ganga was split in to 12 holy channels, Alaknanda was one of them. Later, that became the abode of Lord Vishnu or Badrinath. Day 11: Badrinath-Rishikesh (300Kms/10hrs) Early in the morning, depart for Rishikesh, lunch enroot. Overnight stay in hotel. Upon arrival proceed to the Taj Mahal to see the architectural modern day wonder of the world, the incomparable Taj Mahal. This monument is a fine example of the fusion of many architectural styles and is one of the wonders of the modern world. Built in 1652 by Emperor Shah Jahan. 1300 to 1400 hours Proceed to Hotel Trident in Agra where a sumptuous buffet lunch awaits you. 1400 to 1500 hours After lunch visit the Agra Fort built in red sandstone with its magnificent palaces, halls of public and private audience and the beautiful gardens. This is where Emperor Shah Jahan was kept under house arrest by his third son Aurangzeb and spent the last year of his life viewing the Taj Mahal from across the river Jamuna. 1500 to 1530 hours Visit to a marble factory to see the beautiful inlay of precious and semi precious stones into the marble. 1600 to 1630 hours Finally before driving back to Delhi, one can make a brief visit to Sikandra the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Akbar, a magnificent garden tomb. Return to Delhi around 2130 hours stopping midway for refreshments. |
